A large olive tile in bold 3D relief.

No two tiles are ever the same.

More than just wood

Born from Estonian forests.

EmotionWood has crafted eco-friendly wood design panels in Estonia since 2014, where nature and design meet in balance. Every panel is made by hand by skilled artisans, guided by Nordic values of quality and responsibility.

Which is why these panels aren't only a surface to look at. They're solid-wood panels that earn their place on the wall: acoustically, environmentally and for years.

Softer, warmer rooms

Natural wood improves acoustics, thermal comfort and indoor climate, so spaces feel calmer, not just look richer.

Solid, not veneer

Solid timber right through, not a veneer over board, so it can be cut, sanded and lived with.

An original design

A distinctive EmotionWood pattern, handcrafted and made to your order in Estonia: originality you can specify with confidence.

Documented & declared

Eco-friendly production, with technical and installation data sheets: the paperwork trade and architect specs ask for.

Where it lives

A living surface, room by room.

Feature walls
01 Feature walls A bold, large-format 3D wall as the centrepiece.

Why it lasts

Solid wood, engineered to be lived with.

The Kota 70 is a large 435 mm tile of solid olive wood, each one raised into a bold pyramid so light and shadow play strongly across the wall. Olive is wild-grained and full of character, so no two tiles are ever alike.

Pattern · 3D pyramid tiles

Pyramids of
light and shadow.

Each 435 mm tile is raised into a bold pyramid, so light strikes the faces at different angles and the wall casts deep, shifting shadow. A large-format, sculptural surface.

Material · Solid olive

Real olive,
wild-grained.

Solid olive wood, prized for its dramatic, unpredictable grain and warm, creamy tone streaked with darker figure. No two tiles are ever the same.

  • Solid olive hardwood, never veneer
  • Wild, characterful grain
  • Naturally oiled to a soft sheen

Format · A large tile

Fewer tiles,
bigger statement.

At 435 mm square, each tile covers 0.19 m², so a wall comes together fast and reads as bold geometry rather than fine texture. Five tiles to a pack, about 0.95 m².

Install · Bonded to the wall

to a flat wall.

The finishes

One geometry, many characters.

One panel, one pattern; the character comes from the wood. Every finish is solid, hand-finished timber, cut and laid by hand in Estonia.

Installation

Up on the wall in an afternoon.

These panels bond straight to a flat wall with adhesive. No specialist trade required: a clean wall, a level, and a steady row-by-row rhythm.

GLUE THE FIELD stop short of every edge & corner wall panel 19 mm press & level

Best on a flat, dry, load-tested wall. No battens needed; the wall itself is the substrate.

Bonded straight to the wall.

The fastest route for a sound, level wall. A heat- and moisture-resistant silicone holds the panels flush with no visible fixings.

  1. Prep the wallClean, flat and level. Finish all wet works first so the wall is fully dry.
  2. Butter the panelSpread moisture-resistant silicone across the back, covering edges and corners, but stop short of the very edge so it won't squeeze out.
  3. Press & levelSet the panel, press firmly so it beds evenly, and check it sits flush and true.
  4. Work the wallTop to bottom, left to right, row by row, and the seams disappear as you go.
  5. Seal & treatFinish with a breathable wood protector to guard against dirt and moisture.

The rhythm: row by row.

Whichever way you fix them, start top-left, then work down and across so each row locks into the last.

Start top-left Row by row Down & across

Before you start

  • Acclimatise first. Store the panels in the room for a few weeks so the wood settles to its temperature and humidity. Never below freezing.
  • Wet works first. Finish any wet trades before fitting; panels fixed to a damp wall will absorb moisture and swell.
  • Order a little extra. Allow 5 to 10% for cuts and edge pieces, and expect gentle shade variation between batches.

Care & repair

  • Protect it. Treat all surfaces with a breathable wood protector; it repels dirt and moisture and lifts the grain.
  • Never pressure-wash. Running water or a pressure washer will damage the wood; wipe clean and dry only.
  • Swap a damaged piece. Chisel it out, clean the plywood back, and glue a replacement in; no need to redo the wall.

Common questions

Answered, before you ask.

A real human is one click away, but most of what we get asked is right here.

Talk to a specialist
How much does one pack cover?

Each pack holds 5 tiles and covers about 0.95 m². Tiles are 435 × 435 mm with a coverage of 0.19 m² each. Order by the pack, and allow 5 to 10% extra for cuts and waste.

Can I use it in a sauna or bathroom?

No. The Kota 70 is natural olive, not a heat or moisture-treated wood, so keep it to dry interior walls and ceilings, away from saunas, showers and splash zones. For heat and steam, see our thermo-treated Kota 58 or other thermo panel series.

Is the grain really that varied?

Yes. Olive is one of the wildest-grained woods there is, with creamy tones streaked by dramatic darker figure. Every tile is different, so expect real variation across a wall — that variation is the character.

How do I install it?

It is a large, solid tile, so bond it to a clean, dry, level wall with a strong construction adhesive, with concealed mechanical fixing where needed. Let the tiles acclimatise in the room first and keep the surface dry.

Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?

Yes. We price by the pack, with trade and architect rates for larger projects. Talk to a specialist for a project quote.
