Noble wood panel feature wall in a restaurant
The Noble

· The Noble ·

A wall of quiet grain.

Smooth planks, staggered in low relief.

Warmth you can read in the grain.

More than just wood

Born from Estonian forests.

EmotionWood has crafted eco-friendly wood design panels in Estonia since 2014, where nature and design meet in balance. Every panel is made by hand by skilled artisans, guided by Nordic values of quality and responsibility.

Which is why these panels aren't only a surface to look at. They're solid-wood panels that earn their place on the wall: acoustically, environmentally and for years.

Why it lasts

Solid wood, engineered to be lived with.

The Noble Series is solid natural wood, laid in smooth staggered planks and finished to bring quiet, grain-led warmth to a wall for decades.

Pattern · Smooth staggered planks

Grain, laid
in low relief.

Each panel is a run of smooth solid-wood planks, staggered at slightly different depths so light rakes across the wall and the grain leads the eye. Run panels edge to edge and the joins disappear.

  • 120 × 765 mm planks, 0.084 m² each
  • Staggered depths that catch the light
  • Smooth faces that show the grain

Material · Solid natural wood

Real wood,
through and through.

Solid timber, never veneer. Thermo-treated finishes are kilned until stable and darker through the body; natural species keep their raw colour.

The finishes

One geometry, many characters.

One panel, one pattern; the character comes from the wood. Every finish is solid, hand-finished timber, cut and laid by hand in Estonia.

Thermoash

Warm mid-brown thermo-treated ash. Stable in heat and steam, with the tone running right through the wood.

Oak

Pale, warm European oak. A soft natural blond that keeps a room bright and calm.

Ash

Light, clean-grained ash. The palest of the naturals, with a fine straight figure.

Thermo Radiata Pine

Thermo-treated pine in a warm honey brown. Stable and even, ready for heat.

Impressa

Charred charcoal finish from oak or ash. A deep near-black with a cracked, tactile surface.

Walnut

Rich, varied walnut browns. A darker, more characterful grain for a statement wall.

Installation

Up on the wall in an afternoon.

Two honest ways to fix the panels: bond straight to a flat wall with adhesive, or brad-nail to battens. No specialist trade required: a clean wall, a level, and a steady row-by-row rhythm.

GLUE THE FIELD stop short of every edge & corner wall panel 20 mm press & level

Best on a flat, dry, load-tested wall. No battens needed; the wall itself is the substrate.

Bonded straight to the wall.

The fastest route for a sound, level wall. A heat- and moisture-resistant silicone holds the panels flush with no visible fixings.

  1. Prep the wallClean, flat and level. Finish all wet works first so the wall is fully dry.
  2. Butter the panelSpread moisture-resistant silicone across the back, covering edges and corners, but stop short of the very edge so it won't squeeze out.
  3. Press & levelSet the panel, press firmly so it beds evenly, and check it sits flush and true.
  4. Work the wallTop to bottom, left to right, row by row, and the seams disappear as you go.
  5. Seal & treatFinish with a breathable wood protector to guard against dirt and moisture.

The rhythm: row by row.

Whichever way you fix them, start top-left, then work down and across so each row locks into the last.

Before you start

  • Acclimatise first. Store the panels in the room for a few weeks so the wood settles to its temperature and humidity. Never below freezing.
  • Wet works first. Finish any wet trades before fitting; panels fixed to a damp wall will absorb moisture and swell.
  • Order a little extra. Allow 5 to 10% for cuts and edge pieces, and expect gentle shade variation between batches.

Care & repair

  • Protect it. Treat all surfaces with a breathable wood protector; it repels dirt and moisture and lifts the grain.
  • Never pressure-wash. Running water or a pressure washer will damage the wood; wipe clean and dry only.
  • Swap a damaged piece. Chisel it out, clean the plywood back, and glue a replacement in; no need to redo the wall.

Common questions

Answered, before you ask.

A real human is one click away, but most of what we get asked is right here.

Talk to a specialist
How much does one pack cover?

Each pack holds 12 panels and covers about 1.0 m². Panels are 120 × 765 mm with a coverage of 0.084 m² each. Order by the square metre, and allow 5 to 10% extra for cuts and waste.

How do I install the panels?

Two ways: glue straight to a clean, level wall with a heat and moisture-resistant silicone, or brad-nail to timber battens. We recommend a brad nailer with stainless brads, or a quality construction silicone.

Can I use them in a sauna or bathroom?

Yes, with a thermo finish. Thermo-treated finishes like Thermoash are made for heat and humidity and are used in sauna interiors. For wet areas, complete any wet works first and treat the wood with a breathable protector. Never pressure-wash the panels.

Are the panels solid wood?

Yes: solid wood, 20 mm thick. Thermo finishes are colour-treated by heat (the tone runs through, no stain); natural finishes like Oak and Ash keep their raw colour. Expect natural variation between panels and batches.

Will the colour match the photos?

Wood tone and grain vary naturally between panels and batches, and that variation is part of the character. Screens shift colour too, so for a critical match talk to a specialist about your project before ordering.

Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?

Yes. We price by the square metre, with trade and architect rates for larger projects. Matching trims and corner pieces are available per linear metre. Talk to a specialist for a project quote.
